Accelerated degree completion programs can shorten individual courses or give eligible students a way to take more coursework. The online programs below use those approaches in different ways. Before choosing a faster pace, ask how your transfer credits apply and which remaining classes must be taken in sequence.
Compare Course Length and Course Load in Accelerated Degree Completion Programs
TESU’s Liberal Studies route includes four-week courses. Fullerton’s business program requires a qualifying CSUF GPA before you can request additional classes. The other selections offer defined short-term calendars. Compare the actual courses and entry conditions before choosing a pace.
TESU offers a four-week course route for Liberal Studies, Franklin lists six- and twelve-week IT classes, and SNHU and CSU Global use eight-week formats. Fullerton’s regular and accelerated business schedules both use eight-week sessions. The difference there is the approved number of courses, which shows why term length alone cannot tell you when a degree will be finished.

These selections represent different ways a college organizes faster-paced study. We compare the course calendar, eligibility conditions and degree requirements that remain after transfer. The list does not predict which institution would graduate an individual student first.
TESU states that its Liberal Studies degree can be completed through four-week accelerated courses, as well as through its other course options. The 120-credit curriculum includes general education, liberal studies, and a capstone. Request an evaluation to see which part of that curriculum you still need.
Before you apply: The four-week format describes individual courses. Your accepted credits, remaining requirements, and chosen load determine how many courses and terms remain.
SNHU's business bachelor's runs online in eight-week terms and describes six terms per year. You can use that calendar to discuss a steady sequence of business, general education, and elective courses after the transfer evaluation.
Before you apply: At least 30 credits must be taken at SNHU within the 120-credit degree. Confirm the actual availability and prerequisites of your remaining classes.

Apply online, complete the required attestation form, and submit a transcript request for each previous college. Confirm any additional requirements for your program.
CSU Global's IT degree combines eight-week asynchronous courses with monthly start dates. That schedule provides multiple entry points while keeping a defined course length. The degree includes technical study and an IT capstone, with optional specializations such as cloud computing.
Before you apply: Short terms still require a workable assignment schedule. Standard transfer admission also includes credit, GPA, and work or other experience requirements.

Standard transfer entry: 24 semester or 36 quarter credits, 2.30 cumulative GPA, good academic standing and two years of work, internship or volunteer experience. Provisional routes have separate conditions.

Fullerton splits its business semesters into eight-week sessions. After earning at least a 3.0 CSUF GPA, eligible students can request accelerated study with one or two additional courses per semester. Advisors build an individual plan for that increased load.
Before you apply: Approval depends on your CSUF academic record. The accelerated schedule is a request, and the projected completion date is set individually.
Where You Start
60 transferable semester units, including 30 units of approved general education, and a 2.50 cumulative GPA. Returning CSUF students need a 2.0 GPA. General education timing and business prerequisites also apply.
Degree Requirements
54 upper-division units in the completion program; 120 total units for graduation, including American Institutions and any outstanding lower-division requirements.
Franklin lists a fully online IT format using six- and twelve-week courses. Its published transfer allowance reaches 94 credits toward the 124-credit degree, and selected certifications can replace specific courses. Evaluate those credits before deciding which course lengths fit the remaining sequence.
Before you apply: At least 30 credits must be completed at Franklin. The capstone must be taken there and is intended to follow the major coursework.
Where You Start
Admission requires documented high school completion or an eligible college degree. Submit official transcripts from every previously attended college; Franklin determines the documentation required for your transfer record.
Organize your previous college credits in the degree planner, then take your course list and questions to a school’s transfer advisor. The school’s evaluation determines which credits count toward your degree.
Does a Shorter Course Let You Finish a Degree Sooner?
A four-week class and an eight-week class describe the span of individual courses. TESU offers the shorter format within Liberal Studies; SNHU describes a recurring eight-week business calendar. Franklin uses both six- and twelve-week IT courses. Ask how the courses left in your degree fit those formats and whether they can be taken in the sequence you need.
Record the start and end dates for each proposed class, not just the number of terms. Mark prerequisites and the final project before counting the workload you could add. A schedule can include short classes while still requiring a course to be finished before the next one begins.
Map Transfer Credits and Required Courses Before Choosing a Faster Pace
Franklin requires its IT capstone at Franklin and at least 30 university credits. TESU’s Liberal Studies curriculum includes a liberal arts capstone. Those final requirements belong in the completion plan even when earlier coursework transfers. Ask what preparation must be finished before the concluding course can begin.
Have the advisor apply your transfer credits to the selected degree, then mark the remaining courses that can run together and those that depend on earlier work. Test your preferred pace against that sequence. If you’re still choosing a major, complete the degree comparison first so an accelerated timetable is based on the curriculum you actually intend to finish.
When Can You Add Courses to an Accelerated Business Schedule?
Fullerton allows business students with a CSUF GPA of at least 3.0 to request accelerated study. Eligible students work with an advisor on one or two additional courses per semester. It is an approval process based on your CSUF work, so it should not be assumed in the schedule you use before establishing that record.
Before requesting a heavier load, compare overlapping assignments, exams and group activities with your available study time. Ask how postponing a class would affect the sequence and when it would next run. Use the workload you’ve already completed successfully as evidence for the next course-load decision.

What Makes a Degree Completion Program Accelerated?+
The programs here offer compressed course terms or an approved way to take additional courses. TESU identifies four-week classes within its Liberal Studies degree. Fullerton’s business program lets students with a qualifying CSUF GPA request a heavier course load. Compare the actual change each college makes to the course plan.
Ask the university to evaluate your transcript and map the remaining sequence against that goal. Required university coursework, prerequisites, the capstone and course availability all belong in the plan. Franklin’s IT capstone and Fullerton’s course-load approval process are examples of requirements a short-course calendar does not resolve.
Do Eight-Week Courses Mean I Can Finish Twice as Fast?+
Course length alone cannot establish that result. Fullerton uses eight-week sessions in both its regular and accelerated business schedules, with different approved loads. Compare the number of required courses, their prerequisites and the dates you can actually take them before estimating the time saved.
Can I Enter Fullerton on the Accelerated Business Schedule?+
Fullerton requires a CSUF GPA of at least 3.0 before you can request accelerated study. Eligible students then work with the advising team on additional classes and an individual plan. Keep the standard sequence in view until you have met that condition and received approval.
Read the delivery rules separately from the term length. CSU Global describes its IT courses as asynchronous and eight weeks long, with monthly start dates. Ask for the actual assignment calendar and expected weekly work. Asynchronous identifies the meeting format; it does not remove the need to follow the course’s requirements.
